Recently a close member of our family was diagnosed with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease. Often, a person's speech is the first to be affected when diagnosed. Within this blog I will discuss ALS, the affect it has on speech, and techniques used by patients that allow them to communicate during later phases of the disease.
